Women in South Asia have historically been marginalized and often overlooked, despite playing a crucial role in families, households, and various aspects of societal life. In many cases, women have not received the recognition or rights they deserve due to limited financial independence, societal preference for sons, traditional family responsibilities, and restrictive cultural norms. This study aims to examine the status of women in Balochistan, focusing on critical issues such as parda (veiling), education, marriage, and domestic life. The findings reveal that the societal position of Balochistani women significantly differs from that of women in Western societies. In Balochistan, societal organization is deeply rooted in gender-based roles, which perpetuate inequalities and severely impact women’s and girls’ lives. These inequities have far-reaching consequences, especially in underdeveloped regions like Balochistan. The lack of equal access to education for girls has led to negative outcomes in health, poverty, and reproductive health, further hindering progress in the region. Various cultural, social, and economic factors continue to influence and undermine women’s status in Balochistani society.
