Abstract

The current study aims to analyze Sultan Bahu's poetry through Arran Stibbe's Eco linguistic framework (2015). The study helps in bringing a contemporary change in Sultan Bahu's mystic verse by identifying different stories of mind presented in Arran Stibbe's framework (2015): framing metaphor, identity, salience, erasure, ideology, conviction and evaluation. The study is qualitative in nature, in which different excerpts are selected from Bahu’s poetry through propulsive sampling technique. The analysis shows that Bahu uses different metaphors from the surrounding environment to preach his people the Divine message of God. The study is significant, since its findings establish a relationship between environment and language through a study of sufi poetry.
