Home Environment and Meaning in Life among University students: The Moderating Role of Attachment Styles

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the predictive role of the home environment in determining the level of meaning in life. A sample of 172 students 147 females and 25 female, aged 18 – 35 drawn from three universities BZU Multan, USP Multan and woman university Multan selected through random sampling. Standardized instruments including the home environment scale, Meaning in Life Questionnaire, and Attachment scale were administered to collect data the analysis weThe present study aimed to investigate the predictive role of the home environment in determining the level of meaning in life. Correlational research design was used in the study. A sample of 172 students 147 females and 25 males, aged 18 – 35 drawn from three universities BZU Multan, USP Multan and woman university Multan selected through random sampling. Standardized instruments including the home environment scale, meaning in Life Questionnaire, and Attachment scale were administered to collect data the analysis were performed using SPSS and Hayes Process Macro to test moderation effects. The results revealed that home environment has a significant impact on meaning in life among students. Attachment styles have a moderating role in home environment and meaning in life among students. Students with secure attachment style exhibited a stronger positive link between the home environment and meaning in life as compare to avoidant and anxious attachment styles. The study highlights the need for good home environment and attachment styles to pursue meaning in life among university students.
