Post 9/11 Pakistani Occidentalism: A Case Study of “Khuda Ke Liye” and “021”

Abstract

This paper explores the post 9/11 representation of the West in Pakistani cinema with special reference to two feature films “Khuda Ke Liye” and “021” by qualitative method of research. After reviewing the tradition of Occidentalism and historical background of Pakistani Cinema, the researcher analyzed the depiction of the West in “Khuda Ke Liye” and “021” by employing narrative analysis and contextual analysis techniques in the light of Huntington’s clash of civilizations theory and Dallmyr’s dialogue among civilizations perspective.
