Depression is a worldwide issue that has substantial socio-economic consequences. This study examines the dependability and structure of the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) in a sample of married individuals in Bahawalpur. The BDI is a commonly employed instrument, however, there are found the presence of cross-cultural variations in terms of identified factors or dimensions of the instrument (BDI). The objective of this study is to evaluate the reliability of BDI and determine its factor structure. Data was acquired from a sample of 160 married adults. The data analysis involved the use of Cronbach's Alpha and Principal Component Analysis. Four components were identified, providing insight into various symptoms of depression. This investigation contributes to the broader understanding of mental health symptomatology, shedding light on potential cultural influences that shape the manifestation and interpretation of psychological symptoms recorded through BDI instrument.
